Modelling for the IA: Introduction
Many IAs will incorporate some element of modelling in their work. This could be in the form of transforming functions to fit a design or using regression techniques to fit a model to a real life scenario. In this section we will explore a number of useful regression techniques using both technology and by hand.
We will also look at how Tracker can be used to support motion capture investigations and cover a number of extension ideas such as linearization techniques, polar coordinates and parametric equations. There are worksheets to support both trigonometric and quadratic modelling.
